30 for 30 Challenge: Linh's Second Week

September 26, 2013

As the challenge finally hits halfway, I realized a few things. I am probably going to wear my fitted striped tee way too much. I am really lazy to coordinate outfits. I should have thought more about accessories. (none this week!)

Anyways, I love this challenge because most of the time on fashion blogs, you only see the cute, well thought-out outfits. However, this challenge makes everyone see my lazy days and what I wear when I'm NOT feeling cute. Like, I honestly would not post half these outfits if it was not for this challenge. To me, they seem basic and uninspired. However, I also think to myself, hey I don't look that bad on the days I don't feel cute.

EASY STRIPES: I rarely wear fitted shirts tucked into pants because I'm so self conscience about my tummy, but I'm getting over it. Cuffed pants, striped shirt, nothing exciting.
Pants: Madwell // Loafers: Bass // Top: Zara

More pictures behind the cut! Non-blurry ones too!

CHAMBRAY SKIRT: As you can tell from my previous post (found here), I love chambray. This chambray skirt goes with literally everything. Also, note the Phillip Lim for Target bag! I made it Target 8:10 am and I was lucky they restocked the shelf with the purse!
Skirt: Blanco (from Spain) // Shirt: Madewell // Wedges: UO // Purse: Phillip Lim for Target // Marc Jacobs Seduce Me Lipstick

BACKWARDS SHIRT: Ok, I unintentionally wore my striped shirt backwards and now I'm wondering why I never did before. I always proclaim I love the scooped back, but I forgot that my boobs look good when not covered up too. Casual outfit to go to the mall with my baby nephew and his parents.
Top: Zara // Shorts: H&M // Loafers: Bass // Lips: Mac in So Chaud

I ADDED A DRESS: Finally decided on a dress to add to the challenge. I realized none of my dresses are very casual and now I want more and better dresses.  Now I am at 28 pieces with 2 more to add if I need to!
Dress: Zara // Polka dot Jacket: Target kids section // Sandals: Asos

BLACK DENIM: I seriously have not worn blue jeans in forever. I think in the past 4 years, I have worn blue denim like once or twice a year. I always found my black denim made me look more polished. That, and when I wear my white coat over it, you can't tell I'm wearing jeans half the time.
Shirt, jeans, loafers: F21

A LITTLE TOO COLORFUL: Ok, as an afterthought, I really do not like this outfit. A little too much color, even for me. IDK, I don't think it really worked. The last time I wore this top, I wore it with a plain black scalloped skirt, but I really didn't have that choice this time.
Loafers: Bass // Pants: J Crew // Top: UO

LAZY DAY: I was too lazy to coordinate an outfit in my head, so I just grabbed my chambray and the pair of pants that lay on top of my clothes.
Shirt: Gap // Pants: Madewell // Loafers: F21

So the second week ends and there's only 2 items I haven't worn yet - a colorful tank and my pink linen pants. I feel like I'm losing steam already but I gotta keep on pushing and try to find ways to make myself love my outfits more. But honestly, if I just put on a little lipstick, I feel 10x better about myself.

What things do you do to feel more polished? Any tips or tricks up your sleeves?
