I learned about Mentira Mentira, native of Mexico, over a year ago and slipped them in my "One Liner" playlist of forgotten bands. I have 500 songs from 500 bands that I have encountered over the
years. Normally, I never listen to their entire EP or album (let's be real, or any other song they have ever sang OOPS). But tonight is the night! I am giving Mentira Mentira their 15 minute of obscure internet fame!!
"Turnaway" showcases their distorted vocals and sludgy music that appeals to my garage rock tastes. These scuzzy notes might be more familiar in EE.UU but this Tijuana vocalist is a rare breed in Mexico. And by the looks of this video they look like like a good time. What more could you want?
